Diamonds defeated

Spurs walk on water ... finally

Coach Peter Travassaros was happy for the first time in a while with the Seniors having a 2-1 against Wodonga Diamonds at Diamond Park on Sunday.Despite a late lapse, the commitment and enthusiasm was solid throughout the game, resulting in a deserved victory. This should be the beginning of a long run of wins taking the Spurs to the top where we belong. An excellent performance from double goalscorer Darrel Mills and Paul Iannotta, Kelvin Davies and Wes Pendlebury.A good team effort by the Reserves for the 90 minutes saw a good 2-1 win. It was good to finally defeat one of the top teams. Good games by Wes and Wayne. Another good goal by the Camel, making him the equal top scorer. Keep up the great work boys.

Ladies - lost 0-4A good effort against a very strong side.

Thirds - lost 1-2 A fair effort by the team. We must concentrate on playing. Good games by Nick, Tom and Ryan.

Under 16 girls - won 7-0Another fine performance by a team which is improving with each game. Some excellent contributions from Lyndall Hutchison, Katrina Smith, Fiona Smith and Hayley Nastasijevic. Under 10s - lost 0-1An extremely tough game. Everybody played as well as they could. Alex played a good game in goals while Daniel, Glenn, Luke and Sam played well on the field. That extra 30 minutes paid off because the whole team put in 100 per cent into tackling. Special mention to A.B. our star goalkeeper who played an excellent game out on the field. Better luck this week.Under 9s - won 2-0A great goal by Shaun to get the team going, followed up by Kye with another goal. Good endeavour shown by all for a good win. No game next week.
