Disappointing draw

The Hotspurs Seniors played a sensational game which ended in a draw and disappointment. After working hard for 75 minutes the team gave away three cheap goals against a fast-finishing SS and A which saw Hotspurs clutch a draw from the wide-opened jaws of victory. Both teams created many chances which was extremely entertaining for the crowd. Goals from Paul Rago, Darrel Mills and a penalty from Kelvin Davies saw Spurs to a 3-0 lead but in the end it was not enough to seal the points.Strong performances from Robert Vukasinovic, Peter Gunning and Robert Tuksar. Some hard work at training this week will be assured. On the ladder: 6th with 9 points

Ladies - lost 0-5A very disappointing performance from the Ladies who could not match SS and A on the day and who outclassed the team in every way. Mention must be made of Chantelle who didn’t give in all game. The team must use this loss as a learning experience. On the ladder: 5th place with 12 points

Under 16 girls - won 5-0At last with all players available, Hotspurs girls showed just what they could do even against a strong opponent like Boomers. All members of the team played well. With Katie, Ellen and Katrina dominating the midfield, defence was excellent and attack brilliant. Tara, Hayley and Jess attacked with speed and skill while backs Liz, Lyndall, Ella, Fiona and Hayley in goals were calm and rock solid. Kirby in her first game did well of the bench and Kristy again did a fine job filling in. Well done team!! Keep training hard and defend the title. On the ladder: Equal 1st place with 12 points

Under 14s - lost 9-1After a terrific first half, the 14s did not play as well after the break. The team must play out the whole game. Nice goal by Matt and strong games from Brody, John and Trevor. On the ladder: 8th place with 6 points

Under 9s - lost 0-6Believe it or not, it was nil all at the half-time break and the team was playing very well. But in the second half the team lost the plot and Boomers had a picnic due to the lack of running and wanting the ball by the Spurs.
