Three rounds to the finals

Seniors v Diamonds won 2-1 Sponsored by SodensGreat first half. We only scored one by a Robert Tuksar header from a Mills corner, but should’ve converted a couple more. Well played Trav , back from injury, until he was chop down early in the second half and had to leave the field for the remainder of the game. Thanks to Dan Fish for filling in for Trav. We lost our way a little in the second half but the team seemed determined to win this one. Robert was mowed down in the box, again, and Kewen smashed it into the corner, again. Great games especially from Bones, Tuksar, Vuka and Brendon Munge who had a job to do on Diamonds Steve Brunic and totally dominated him.

Reserves v Diamonds won 1-0 Sponsored by SodensA good win to the boys. Everyone had to dig deep. Special mention to Welshy for finally scoring after missing a sitter in the first half, to Gibbo for aciculae lasting the full 90 minutes and to Harroooooo for keeping a clean sheet despite the dodgy passing.

Ladies v Myrtleford - won 6-0Ladies v Diamonds - lost 1-3

Thirds v Diamonds - lost 0-4With a bare 11 our thirds team put in a heart-felt effort but too bad there was no one there to support them. C’mon guys get behind the thirds!!

Under 16 Girls v Myrtleford won 1-0A gutsy performance given the depleted team numbers. Fantastic game from Ella Carnie who completely dominated their "star" player. Others to contribute at top level were the ever reliable Fiona Smith along with Ellen Crossley, Tara Muth, Kristy Gillespie, Kate Kendall and Hayley Seaton. A great goal by first hit Kirby Leathem.

Under 16 Girls v Diamonds won 1-0What a cliff-hanger? Our goal came in the last two minutes even though we completely dominated the match. Another gutsy effort from a depleted team backing up from the previous day. A real team effort.

Under 15s bye

Under 14’s v Myrtleford lost 0-2Top game everyone. We are improving all the time. Keep it up.

Under 14s v Diamonds bye

Under 13s v Diamonds lost 0-1We were unlucky today. We played very well. Phil was outstanding. Tim also played well. Thanks to the u/11’s for filling in.

Under 12s v Diamonds bye

Under 12s v Myrtleford lost 0-2Minus a few players against Myrtleford, the players present played hard and well. There was a number of opportunities but we did not take them the they occurred. Best players were Pat, Ross and Megan. All in all, not a bad performance

Under 11s v Myrtleford won 4-0We began slowly today and as such the half-time score was 0-0. The second half saw the team play some great soccer resulting in goals to Daniel Foden, Simon and Briggsy. Well played Kristy, Sam, Clemo, Alex, Briggsy and Matty P.

Under 11s v Diamonds won 4-0Despite the scoreline this was a close game the Hotspurs taking their chances in the first half, in which goals were scored by Matty P, Seato and Briggsy. Mark made some great saves in goal and the team played some good team soccer. The second half was closely fought with Briggsy slotting his second from a free kick. Well played everyone, special mention to Ben, Simon, Seato and Daniel B.

Under 10s v Diamonds lost 0-3The team was very unlucky not to score as the ball was up our end for most of the game. Some great passing and good defence work. Good games from Glen, Robbie, Andrew Jake and Michael.

Under 9s v Myrtleford lost 0-2Once again it was 0-0 after half time. But all game we could not get the ball in the back of the net. The score doesn’t reflect the evenness of the two teams in fact I wouldn’t hesitate to say we had more of the play and more chances to score. Best players Jarrod, Steven, Callum and Aris.Under 9s v Diamonds won 3-1Finally found the back of the net again. Playing some good soccer over the last month. Best players Jason, Shaun, Tim and Tom in goals.
