Mills starts seasonwith a hat-trick

THE new-look Hotspurs seniors team started the year off well with a 4-2 win over Twin City Wanderers at home.After taking some time tosettle into a rhythm, the team started to play some good football with Robert Tuksar and Darrel Mills providing targets up front and Paul Rago and Scott Cremer doing some penetrating running from midfield.The team will take some time to gel but this was a decent effort first time out.Man of the Match was Darrel Mills who scored a hat-trick.Robert Tuksar also scored one.n Darrel MillsSeniors sponsored by: SODENS HOTEL

Reserves - lost 0-3 Sponsored by SodensA good effort considering it was the first time most players have seen each other. The team will improve with time and commitment to training together. Man of the match was Mark Harrison who took some brillant saves on the day.

Ladies - won 5-0Great start to the season with a 5 - 0 win over T.C.W. 2 beautiful goals scored from free kicks by Katrina, 2 more from Mikaela and 1 from Chantelle one of our newest players. Lets hope we keep this pace up for the rest of the season. Well done to all players.

Thirds - won 5-1Under 16 Girls - lost 1-6Well done to Kristy, Amy and Georgie who filled in to avoid a first match forfeit. These three were among the team’s best players. Others to have good games were Hayley in goals and Fiona in the backs. Hopefully players will work on their fitness for the remainder of the season.

Under 15s - won 7-1A good effort for the first game of the year. Created many chances and took them well. All the team played well considering the amount of peope turning up to training. Please make an effort, "the two coaches do’’.

Under 14s - lost 0-3

Under 13s - lost 0-2

Uhder 12s - won 3-2The first game of the seasons ended up as a win for the 12s. Defence was excellent as was the midfield and forwards who finished with three goals. A very good team performance. Everyone deserves a pat on the back - well done!

Under 11s - won 4-1

Under 10s - won 5-3An excellent performance from our junior side. Everybody played very well especially Alex, Sam, rob, Matthew, Daniel and Chris. Good goals by Andrew, Chris, Daniel and Josh. Looking forward to a win against next game. See you at training and we will have fun at McDonalds.

Under 9s - lost 0-4Good endeavour shown by all. Welcome to our new players and look forward to improving in the coming weeks.
