HOTSPURS Newsletter No.4 – April 18th 2005

STILL GOING WELL

Out teams continued their good form by winning the majority of the games against Wodonga Panthers on Sunday.

The ELEVENS were able to record a 7-1 win, while the TWELVES defeated Panthers by an incredible15-0, it was pleasing to see the Wodonga team trying to do their best for the entire game. Goals were shared amongst all our team members and thank you to Matt Heitmeyer for filling in for the twelves.

Our Thirds won 5-1 and it was great to see the Fifteens players helping out our undermanned THIRDS team and performing so well. Thanks to Alex for playing in goal during Matt’s absence.

The LADIES had a good 3-0 win and congratulations to Sarah Darey for scoring all three goals in her first game for Hotspurs.

The RESERVES managed a 5-1 win with Micheal Corkett getting a Hat-trick and winning the mug again.

SENIOR MEN won 9-1 with a good second half performance. The Panthers keeper was in sensational form and helped to keep the score down. Mills got 3, Tuksar 2 Giles 2 and Jim McKillop  and Luke Briggs both got one goal and both played very well. “Bones” Cremer played a sensational game and was unlucky not to score.

14 GIRLS lost to Twin city 4-1 but performed really well considering their opponents had eleven players to our nine. Sarah Schultz scored the team goal. This performance was very encouraging as half the Hotspurs team are playing their first year of soccer. Keep up the good work, girls.
