Newsletter No.1 - March 29th 2005

WELCOME      to the new season. Hotspurs are pleased to acknowledge two new sponsors to our club for season 2005. SODENS HOTEL have joined with us

and we look forward to many drinks and meals at this great venue. Nick Willoughby is the host at SODENS.  WODONGA PRESTIGE MOTORS (BMW / LAND ROVER / VOLVO) have also joined our club and there is the opportunity for members to get great deals on new and used cars and also make money for the club. FIRST GAME    Will be played against DIAMONDS this Sunday APRIL 3rd  at Lambert Park. Unfortunately due to the unavailability of Aloysius Park not all our teams will play. Those that miss out will catch these games up in a few weeks.

DRAW against DIAMONDS is 8-30am start FIFTEENS / 10-00am start THIRDS/

11-30am start THIRTEENS/ 1-00pm start RESERVES/ 3-00pm start SENIORS.

The following teams TENS 8-30am start/ELEVENS 9-30am start/TWELVES 10-40am start will play at DIAMOND PARK which has relocated to LaTrobe University- Moorefield Park Road- Wodonga.

The  LADIES/ 14 GIRLS/17 GIRLS have BYES this weekend.

The following Sunday the  10/4/05 HOTSPURS play LAVINGTON PANTHERS  at MELROSE PARK -LAVINGTON

CLUB FUNCTION  Our first function will be held at SODENS HOTEL on April 3rd after our first game. It will be a BBQ in the BEER GARDEN. Cost will be $ 5-00 per Adult $2-00 Children for meat and salad. Starts at 6-00pm. Everyone welcome bring the family along for a great value meal.

NINES

The nine teams will play their first game on Saturday 30th APRIL.

The season draw for nines will be available soon.

REGISTRATION      

All players must be registered (completed registration forms and paid fees)

before they can play.

PLAYING STRIP     

Players are to wear soccer boots, shin guards( compulsory,) plain black shorts and club socks during games. Socks are available from our canteen @ $8-00 a pair.

Senior shorts are available from canteen @ $ 20-00. A club shirt will be issued – please only wear the shirts for games – not training.

DUTY TEAM   

A team duty roster has been issued to managers. The FIFTEENS will be duty team for the first game on April 3rd.
