Sixteens Won 2-1
Played pretty well for the first game of the year. It was pleasing that every player
made a strong contribution to the team’s good performance. Special
mention to Glenn, Rob, Alex and Todd.
Thirds
won 6-2
Great performance to score a strong win after being down 1-0 at half
time. The
finishing in front of goal was very good. Matt Clemo
was outstanding in defence, Ben and Stan played well
and Luke scored 5 goals.
Thirteens lost 5-1
Our first
match of the year didn't start in quite the fashion the team and supporters had
hoped for, after 10 minutes we were down 3 nil. As the team got to know each
other? a little more team work and talking occurred
and by half time we were looking almost like a soccer team. After some good
team work and passing between the forwards Kye scored
a great goal to put us back in the match. Ankle injuries to Jarrod and Jonny meant are numbers were low for the second half and
the hot weather took its toll on the remaining eleven players, we eventually
ran out of legs and allowed in 2 more goals to finish up losing 5-1. Welcome to
our new players, Jackson Ledger, Peter Waters and James Scott. Best players for
the day were Kye, Jackson, Harry and Peter, thanks to
Jason Dalitz for filling in.
Reserves
won 1-1
The
reserves played very well considering they were a man down for most of the
game. Great to see Mickett score a top goal and
Rowan, Jim and Dario played great games.
Seniors
won 2-1
Had to work hard to get a narrow win. Goals by Ryan and “new dad” Tuksar were enough. Bones played strongly all day. Congrats
to Narelle and Robert on the arrival of “ Ava Mae”
