Match Reports Saturday:

U'9 Black vs Diamonds: Won 1-0 (played 21/6/03): A vast improvement on our previous games performance with the players holding their positions well and passing the ball to one another. Ethan had an excellent game in defence thwarting numerous Diamond attacking raids. Consistent pressure by our forwards and midfield resulted in a goal to Harrison.  Well done, boys!

U'9 Black vs United: Won 2-0 (played 28/6/03): Another pleasing performance with all players contributing to the team's victory.  Despite United only having seven players, our team again held their positions well and played as a team.  Ethan and Matt were terrific at the back, Jordan, Jack and Ryan worked tirelessly in the midfield as did player of the match James who scored both our goals.

U'9 Gold vs St Pats: Won 4-1: The team enjoyed a 4-1 victory over St Pats. It is great to see the improvement in every member of the team.  Two players who continue to impress with much endeavour are Jordan Haggett in defence and Nida Mollison in midfield, well done guys!  Thanks to our goalies on the day, Jonathon Robin and James Bray.

Match Reports v Wodonga Panthers:

Seniors: Won 8-0: The seniors played really well. The passing and running off the ball was great to watch. Bones and Possum played well on the wings with the two Rob T’s moving well up front. Tuksar scored his 200th senior goal with his hatrick. Kanners was really good in midfield and Harro was very solid at the back. A good win and we just have keep going. Best wishes to Rob Tudor for his trip to Europe over the next four weeks.

Reserves Won 3-1: We won 3-1 in very difficult conditions. At half time the score was 1-1 and a draw with this team would have been a bit of a let down. Two second half goals by Andrew gave us a clear winning margin. Mick had his best game of the season making some good space out wide and was even seen helping out in the back line a few times. Wayne was solid in defence as always. Johnny made his debut out in the field and made at least one memorable turn. Two important games are coming up, we need to concentrate on winning more in the air and finishing more goals.

U'15's Won 6-4: In extremely boggy conditions and losing two players before the game with injury and representative training and another one not coming because of a party and one because it was too wet we played with only 10 men until James Gordon came on with 20 minutes to go. Our boys ran their guts out and fought out a very hard win. Mitch scored his first hat trick for the club Seato grabbed two special goals and Towny grabbed our sixth. Finny did well in goals. Jake earned player of the week with a big second half. The boys needed to stick together and win this one otherwise the league title was not for us this year. We still have a shot boys.

U'14's Won 4-1: In a game of two distinct halves, the 14's played an unconvincing first half tussle to be one all at the break. After a few well framed words by coach Darrel at half time, we played the second half as if we were a completely different team. Dominating play, our team was first to the ball, passed and followed through and out tackled the opposition to score 3 more goals. Goal scorers were Matt Reid, Andrew Lindsay, Chris Johnson & Matt Townsend. With important matches against Wangaratta, SS&A and Myrtleford coming up soon, the 14's will need to show consistent form for the whole game to keep up their winning streak.

U'14's vs Lavington Panthers: Won 5-1: The 14's are starting to show what they are capable of with another consistent, strong performance. Following on from a hard fought draw against old rivals United last week, we continued to play great team soccer against a team that we have never beaten before to score all six goals (Josh hit a beautifully placed ball past a bewildered Todd for an own goal - must have forgotten that we had changed ends at half time). As with last week, all team members showed commitment and played intelligent, focused soccer with good passing and support - even coach Darrel was very pleased with the teams performance (although he was heard to mutter after the first 15 minutes that we should have buried Lavington 6-0, such was our domination around the park - let down only by our finishing in front of goal). Goals were scored by Andrew Lindsay (1), James Heath (2), Matt Reid (1) and Matt Townsend (1)- Todd performed a few more miracles in goal. Great team effort, lets keep the momentum going!

U'13's: Won 3-1: Great game kids, goals scored by Tim 2 and Jarrod 1.  W / Panthers goal was from a penalty good play by Jake he got in there it did`nt matter how big or small his opponent was. Also Brad, Jessica, Paddy, Shannon played well. Good goal keeping Jarrod and Liam. The award went to Brad also a thank you to Tim, Johnny and Leam for helping out due to some players away. Thank`s to Daniel Briggs and Heather for doing the line .

U'11's: Won 5-0: 3 on the trot, truly magnificent, like a runaway train. The fat lady exercised her vocal chords after only 15 minutes, thank your mother for the rabbits. The Gardiner weeded them out The marsh in Reid stood tall The Gentle lad was not so bagging Mr Watson I presume summed it up Schroeter teed off beautifully Nichols turned it into dollars The Ward would not let them out of Jail The Furze coat ran hot Lloyd-Donald like water off a ducks back Dalitz Jnr from Texas mighty fine Weniger got us the points. Thankyou Rex.

Star Player - James Nichols

U'10's: Won 13-0: Another awesome display by the 10's who demolished the Panthers with some devastating soccer. Whilst the scoreline indicates the dominance it was the fantastic soccer in difficult conditions that was the highlight of the game. Every player once again contributing strongly to the result. Our open attacking style certainly did not suit the Panthers who were torn to shreds with ease, with attack after attack resulting in goals to Hotspurs. It was great to have Tyla back after 2 weeks as he contributed strongly to our midfield and attack. Dominic and Dylan both putting in strong perfomances again. Domenic hammered home two great goals for his first and second for the year whilst the other goals were spread amongst the team. Once again our defence of Rebecca, Ben, Junior and Thomas were inpenetrable as they worked together for another clean sheet. Phillip, Sam and Daniel were all impressive up front with unselfish set ups to each other, while Will, Thomas, James, Tyla and Max again worked tirelessy throughout supplying the strikers with relentless opportunities. A fantastic team effort guys. Goals : Daniel 4, Phillip 2, Tyla 2, Domenic 2, Sam, Max and Thomas. Star player award - Rebecca Briggs, strong defence and calling for the ball..
