Match Reports Saturday:

Hotspurs Gold Vs Hotspurs Black Won 3-0: A well played game in both defence and attack. The guys controlled the ball well on a muddy ground and held their positions for most of the game, which resulted in a great goal from Kyle. Goals also to Jonny and Tom H. Jacob and Jordan were terrific as goal keepers, well done team.

Ryan Weston, Nick and Jack played very well for the Black team. This was a good games from both teams.

Match Reports v United:

Seniors: Won 3-1

A very tough game with both teams playing exciting soccer. The pace was fast and there was very little space on the park. The Spurs played with great determination and this was a deciding factor. Top games from the whole team with Millsy leading from the front. Robert Tuksar scored twice and the goal from Bones was a cracker! The defence was much busier this week and Luke , Spokesy and the two Daniel’s did the job in style. Well done a great win!

Thirds: Lost 0-2: The game against United started off in an even manner, both teams jostled for control of the midfield, with neither team having any good chances at goal, even though we did more defending than United. As the half progressed we lost concentration and composure and started to be consistently beaten to the ball and not find our players with poor passing. By half time we had held off their challenge and went in at nil all. The second half was not a pretty sight, which disappointed the coach and spectators, we need a serious change in attitude and effort on the field and this was clearly explained to the team during Peter's post match post mortem, The end result was an extremely disappointing 2 nil loss in a game where very few with the exception of Rhys could walk away with any respect. We can only improve!

U'15's: Won 4-0: The boys played an extremely good first half with Luke scoring the first goal. David put a beautiful ball over straight on to Bens head for our second and Luke did the same for Mitchell to score with an another header. We could have been up 4 if Uniteds keeper did not pull off the save of the year after Daniels scorching drive from about 25 yards. United were a tough defence to crack in the second half and the only goal we scored was from a piece of individual brilliance from Mitchell when he turned his defender and struck a volley into the top right corner. Our midfield dominated by going hard and being first to the ball. It is great to see 14 young men wanting to play so hard for each other. Keep it up boys. Player of the Week : Matt Clement for running his butt off all day.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: Our club president was overheard saying " When i was at uni I used to clean Dirty Dicks!" work that one out.

U14's Drew 3-3: This was a great game to watch for a Hotspurs supporter.  Our boys began the game with the determination they usually show after a wake-up call.  And this time they played that way for the full game.  All the goals scored (by the Matt Townsend, Matt Reid and Andrew) were set up beautifully and showed a bit of forward thinking. Our players seemed to go after the ball more aggressively from the starting whistle. There was some impressive tackling from Luke, Michael, Robbie and Zac and Todd kept his cool right to the nail-biting finish. We have broken the United-wins-by-one jinx. Let's go one better next time!

U13's: Lost 2-5: Kids, the game was lacking the Hotspurs spirit of getting stuck right into the game . thats why we went down to United . Goals scored by David and Caleb . Came on girls and boys lets lift our spirits and play as a team .

U11's: Won 4-0:  What a game ! There had been rodomontade before the game and boy did we come through with the goods.  This writer is very pleased with the improvement in skill levels, especially the passing and big kicks from the back.  After ten minutes we had the first goal from a smashing shot by Aleke after a good pass through by Chris C.  The second came from a cross from the left by Chris W which James N finished with a great lob.The second half was a little scrappy but we tried hard and James E got two more, though their goal keeper stopped

a number of good shots.  Michael had little work in goal with Paddy, Jake, Jason and Gena solid in defence.  Our midfield was the key to the game with Robert G, Robert B, Adrian, Brent, Tom and Blake running all day making it hard for our opposition to get any rhythm. Star Player - Jake Gardiner

U10's: won 5-0: A much improved performance from the under 10's. After a slow start to the game the guys started to play some great soccer resulting in a two goal lead at the break. Teamwork was the order for the day and the guys did'nt disappoint with several great goals set up through crisp, neat passing and lethal finishing.  It was great to have Rebecca and Jocelyn backing up after rep duties and both put in stirling defensive efforts. James Ellis was given a break from goalkeeping and he starred on the pitch with several fantastic runs and great layoffs. Phillip robbie worked hard and deservedly scored a great solo goal 15 seconds into the second half. Dylan turned in his best match to date. Star Player award - Jocelyn Bartram for very strong defence
