Seniors v Benalla won 12-0
A good victory in trying conditions. Congratulations to Ben Holt on scoring a hat-trick, now he has seven goals from seven games. Also Robert Tuksar scored a hat trick and moved his senior goal tally to 150. Congratulations to Brendon Munge on playing his 69th game and scoring as well. Other goal scorers were Davies (2), Giles, Cremer and Benalla scored one for us as well. Many more goals should’ve been scored but this result put our goals difference up to where it should be. We will need to lift our game for next week’s clash against SS&A if we want to beat them.
Ladies v Benalla won 10-0
Let the mud wrestling begin, because conditions were perfect for a change of sport! Hotspurs ladies adapted play fairly well to the messy conditions and had taken a convincing lead of 6-0 by half time. Dee put in a star performance, claiming five goals. The last was an absolute pearler, she ran it right down from defence, all we had to do was keep out of her way! Superb running from Lauren down the wing and excellent work between the forwards and mid-half kept the 'Spurs almost constantly in attack. Fantastic
contributions from both Emily and Zoe of U18s was a deciding factor in the team's success, thanks so much for once again helping out! I'm assuming there'll be early nights all 'round this Saturday, because Sunday we've gotta be READY TO RUMBLE!
Reserves v Benalla won 9-0
What a way to get back on the winners list with a thumping 9 nil victory. It is hard to name standout players in such a convincing victory, but Wes Pendlebury scored a cracker of a goal and Jonno Corket had a big game in goals. Other players worth mentioning were the defenders, Robbo, Nick and Kieran who shut down every attack with ease. Peter Gunning also had a reasonable game, scoring the other 8 goals.

150 of the best
Congratulations to Robert Tuksar, scoring a hat-trick on Sunday and in doing so reached a milestone of 150 first grade goals. Robert has played 211 games for his 150 goals, which is a goal every 1.4 games, this shows Roberts consistent ability to score goals year after year. Robert has now scored 14 goals this season with seven remaining league games and then finals to be played, hopefully he can add many more goals to his tally.
8 GOAL GUNNING
Peter Gunning scored an amazing eight goals in the reserves nine nil victory over Benalla on Sunday. This must be a club record.
For years Peter has stopped the opposition from scoring and they are no doubt glad when they see him on the field and not in his customary goalkeeping position. But they are soon disappointed when he puts a few past their goalkeeper. Peter showed skill, placement and composure to score his eight goals. Some of us have learnt from Peter when he was keeping goals and now we can again as he show us how to score goals and not waste opportunities. Congratulations Peter.
