Seniors v Wangaratta City won 2-0
First I would like to thank Peter Gunning for playing out the whole game even though he had to rush off straight after the final whistle to drive back to Albury and catch a plane fro work commitments, well done Peter. Young Nick Harris played his first senior game and did a great job, the guy he marked was subbed off in the second half. Thanks Nick and well done. The Robbo was back on the senior field again for the first time since he shattered his knee cap many years ago. He did a great job showing and receiving up front, we love receivers at Hotspurs. Fish did a great job on the right side of the park in midfield. He won a lot of ball, supported well and made some excellent passes. Tom Crossley (Uptown boy) came on late in the second half for Fish who I was reluctant to take off as he was doing a great job but its good to have fresh legs when your two nil up late in the second half. Warwick Hooper also made his senior debut coming on for a tired Robbo. Hoops did well but I don't think he appreciated the 30m run he had to make to get to Millsy's pass.
Ryan destroyed them in the first half. He started the move and finished it off when he scored our first goal and then crossed a superb ball to Millsy who slotted home our second. Darrel played an excellant game and so did Andy. Brett totally bamboozeled the Wang defenders and Munge was as solid as always.
Lets do the job again on Wednesday night, I know we can if were determined to do so. I may bring some more netball tactics into our game, I know Munge would like that.

Ladies v Wangaratta drew 0-0
We didn't kick any goals on Sunday, but then again there were none kicked against us, so it's got to be a good thing. Some fantastic assistance was supplied to our depleted ranks by the girls from the U18's. Wang put up quite a fight, concentrating heavily on defense, the task being complicated further by a messy pitch. Fiona put in some gutsy efforts, obviously not worried about a bit of mud, with Al making a couple of sensational saves (just as well you turned up!). Great runs were had by Elise and Dee, unfortunately we couldn't finish off with the ball in the net.

Reserves v Wangaratta lost 1-2

Under 15s v Diamonds won 1-0
Great game by all. Thanks to the Under 14's Josh, Pat, Ted, Matt and Tom and Under 13s Seato & Clemmo for filling in. Great goal by Pat. Excellent saves by Rhys and strong defence gave us the clean sheet. 3 wins this year, lets get another one this week when we play Diamonds again. Thanks Rhys' Dad Michael for helping out the team in the absence of Briggsy.

Under 14s v Wangaratta drew 1-1
What a nail biting game it was from start to finish , great goal by Ted also goal attempts by Matty Payner, Josh , Nathan .
Welcome back Peter Muth for being out for 4 weeks. Thank you to Andrew Lindsey , Matty Payner , John Seaton , also great goal keeping well done by all of the team..

Under 13s V Wangaratta lost 1-4
We need to start feeding our children whatever they are feeding them at Wangaratta. Our game against the U'13 land of the giants team was hard fought 4-1 loss. I would say that everyone would have come out of this game having learnt a valuable lesson. The main one being that just because they are big and ugly doesn't mean you can't tackle them. The goal we did score was a positive. A cross from the left and a great challenge from Alex and Matty Townsend our U'12 recruit slotted from close. Outstanding games from Ben, Seato, James and our under 12 contingent. Lets regroup and take it to our opponents this week. PS. After this week's game their will be a meeting avbout the Tasmania trip. I would ask that all parents make themselves available as it is regards to billets and other news.

Under 11s V Wangaratta lost 1-4
Well played girls and boys , it was a good game to watch .Don`t forget your chocolate drive is to be handed in this week.

Under 10s v Wangaratta drew 2-2
It was cold and frosty morning in Wangaratta, the team started slowly and before long were two goals down and could have been a lot further behind except for the sensational goal keeping of Kye Ward. There were a number of times when we thought our players on the far side of the field would be swallowed by the swamp monster as part of the field was a lake due to a broken water pipe. After some strategic positional changes at half time, a new team came out and turned the game around, solid defence by Jonny and Oliver, strong mid-field play by the two Liam's and positive attacking by Tim and Jason allowed us to score two quick goals and just miss a third. Even though the score was two all, the game was a game of two halves, keeping the spectators on the toes throughout, it was said, "The winner on the day was soccer."

Hotspurs Black v Albury City lost 0-1
Phillip Robbie captained the side on Saturday which was a very even match. The ball changed ends regularly with some excellent tackling by Emily Scott. There was some extra pressure put on their goalie at the end of the first half, with a good run by Robert Gentle. There was a close call at the start of the second half and a free kick in the dying minutes of the game put the opposition in the lead, what luck!
