HOTSPURS vs ALBURY CITY
Seniors Lost 1-2
Unlucky not to get a better result, a draw or even a win was very possible with
the way we played. New to the club Brett McRitchie and Oliver Pyka both played
very good games. The goal we scored was the best goal by far this season, obviously,
but it will take something good to better it. Every body played well. Wayno,
Harro and Wildy showed they've still got what it takes, while Fish stepped up
for his first full senior game and played very well after he found his confidence.
Scotty did a power of work as usual and was rewarded with the goal after a great
pass by Wayne to the flying German Oly who crossed superbly. Good to see Darrel
(Millsy) make an appearance, coming back from recent surgery and young Thomas
Crossley getting on the park late in the game for his first senior appearance
after he had already played two full games with the thirds and reserves. Robert
Tuksar (captain) battled well up front all day but was unable score, maybe he
was put off by THE MULET!
Reserves drew 2-2
A great effort. We scored twice in the last few minutes to snatch a draw. Peter
Robbie scored both goals on debut. With so many players backing up from third
division the reserves should be well pleased. Top return from Jono Corkett in
goals.
Ladies won 3-0
Thirds lost 0-2
A fairly even game that could have gone either way. All players tried hard,
which was pleasing in our first hit out. The team was best served by Croso,
Johny B, Nick and special mention to Franky in goals. It took 60 minutes but
the Ian Ian count stands at one.
Under 15s had a bye
Under 14s had a bye
Under 13s had a bye
Under 12s won 6-0
A spirited effort to begin the season. Constructive team play which improved
as the game went on. Good to see the boys' versatility that enabled them to
play in several positions. Our high quality team play allowed us to score some
goals which were pleasing to the eye. A good start, but there is room for improvement.
The juggernaut is under way.
Under 11s won ?-?
Welcome to all the kids to a new season. Great game by everyone. Thank you to
Tim and Kia for helping out. Goals by Ricky, Caleb, Tim, Jessica Segelow. Under
thirteens will have thirteen players.
Under 10s won 8-4
A good start to the season. Welcome to our new players, James Moriarty, Daniel
Ryan, Liam O'Dwyer, Jarrod Benton and Chris Besant. Best players this week,
Tim Holt (7 goals), Oliver Haynes (1). Great running out on the wing Shaun Dalitz
and fabulous goal keeping Kia Ward.
