HOTSPURS vs SS&A
Seniors won 4-2
We realised that this game could mean the minor premiership and played accordingly. The first half saw some brilliant touches from Kelvin Davies, Darrel Mills and Robert Tuksar. Elliot Jones and Paul Rago combined well and SS&A were lucky to be only two goals down at half time. Our set piece free kick, which we have been working on for three years, finally worked and the game was over at four nil. A late lapse saw SS&A get two consolation goals but overall it was a great effort. The canteen worked so hard they would like to say they didn't mind the sacrifice of not watching such a brilliant result. We raised HEAPS! We love you Seato, Billy, Tony and Mrs President.
Reserves lost 1-2
Our desire and commitment can't be faulted. We played some excellent soccer and can be pleased with our performance. Keep working hard fellas, the results will come.
Ladies won 5-1
Stoli's Stoli's Stoli's, that's all the girls could say and think about after our magnificent win over SS&A. Honestly (and this is the captain speaking) we absolutely played all over them, we really lifted for the game that could possibly and most probably be the factor in us winning the league. Congratulations to all the girls, our two fabulous coaches, Peter Kendall and Peter Gunning, and our manager Barb Maddocks. This is our year, lets keep this winning feeling going.
Under 16 girls won 4-2
Another win for females at Hotspurs. A good win for the girls after a lot of confusion before the game . Thanks to Katrina for volunteering and Hallee for filling in. See you Sunday for drinks.
Thirds lost 1-2
Two losses in succession. Not what we wanted! Too many missed scoring opportunities and not enough discipline in defence. Great game by Nick while Thomas, Peter, Dave, Trevor and Elliot played very well. Ryan's goal was a gem.
Under 14s lost 0-8
Under 13s won 0-11
Not exactly what I would say was a good game. Portions were good and we'll get better after a good training session.
A very poor effort all over the park in the first half. In the second half we did the basics and looked OK. We must be committed for our team mates.
Great play to Georgia, Amy, Peter, Josh, Damien and Pat. Thanks to goalkeeper John. Reminder to parents if your child can't play please let manager know prior to a game. We lost, next time we'll work a bit harder as a team.
Under 12s lost 3-4
We dominated the first fifteen minutes and were unlucky not to score on numerous occasions. Unfortunately we went to sleep for five minutes and conceded three goals. We must learn that we can't give any team this headstart. On the positive side the second half was our best for quite a while and we were unlucky to not snatch a draw. Goals to Kristy and Luke. Excellent games from Matty Paynter, Luke Briggs and Ben Porta.
Under 11s lost 2-6
Under 10s lost 0-9
Well played Girl and boys. Great play Brad, Zac, Daniel in the back line. Well played Jarrod, Jessica, Aras, Steven and great goal keeping Jarrod and Tom. Never mind next time. Parents remember please have players at game by 8am.
Under 9s won 3-1
A good win by the team as SS and A played much better than last time we played them. All our goals were good team goals with good passing and staying in our positions. Welcome to our new player Jake. Best players Oliver, Shaun and Liam. Coach's best: Jason and Kye. Keep up the good work.
Special report from the Under 16 rep side for SAW
The team won the Victorian championship without conceding a goal. Six Hotspurs players were in the side. Well done.
