Congratulations girls - the league is officially ours. Well done to everyone. We have worked extremely hard all season and really deserve what we have achieved. We hope to see the whole team at the Cent-a-number night at the Termo on Sunday to celebrate. Let’s keep it going through the finals and work towards winning the grand final to give us the double we deserve.

Thirds won 2-1

Glimpses of the team of old. A gutsy performance coming from 1-0 down to win the match. Outstanding defence with terrific efforts from Thomas, Nick, Trev, Nat and Tags. Michael made many fine breaks up front. Also worthy of special mention were Will, John, Ryan and Elliott. Glen’s contribution was his best all year. Now let us set our sights on a Cup campaign.

Under 13s lost to Cobram United 1-4

Excellent effort by all against one of the top teams. The second half was some of the best soccer we have played. Well done to all.

Under 12s lost to Cobram 0-1

The team played well today against a very physical side that often went outside the boundaries of the laws of the game to upset, intimidate and hurt our team. The Hotspurs Under 12s are to be commended on their sportsmanship. Well done kids.

Under 11s won 7-0

A poor first half from the kids in which we were unable to do the basics but still managed to stumble to a 2-0 lead at half-time. After an inspirational speech from the coach at half-time, the side got into top gear and played some delightful soccer and fully deserved their 7-0 win. Great second half by all the side.

Trivia Night: Friday, August 25, Winsor Park Bowling Club, Cost $10 includes light supper. Bookings for tables at canteen.

Cent-a-number night: Sunday, August 13 at the Termo. Pasta night – cent-a-number ticket gets you in the draw for $500 and entry to the pasta night.

Junior Presentation Night: On Sunday, September 3, (Cup final day) at the Greenfield Park Clubrooms from 5.30pm. Free barbecue for junior players, adults $5.
