HOTSPURS v Twin City Wanderers – Sunday 23rd July 2000
Seniors v won 6-0
By boundary rider Ben Dover: A fine effort by all and sundry, the new blood and the old. If Tuksar had concentrated and Mills had not suffered from post insemination stress the score line would have read in further favour to the spurs. An inspiring effort by the line-up. Javi showing his skills and pig with a mug worthy nut goal. The team showed their ability to coordinate a whole hearted attack and may well not need the services of Davies in the future who has been plagued with geriatric symptoms for some time.
Reserves drew 1-1
Our best result against these guys for about three seasons. In a very physical game the boys battle extremely well equalising late in the game. Weshy, Jarrod, Jimmy and Hoops played well. The team showed their potential in patches and is capable of doing well come finals time.
Ladies won 7-0
Two matches remaining to be won to claim the league title. Good luck Ladies.
Thirds drew 1-1
A case of missed opportunities, especially in the early stages and then our midfield fell defence fell away. Special mention to Dave, Thomas, Ryan, Ben, Trev, Peter, while John found great determination in the second half.
Under 16s Girls lost 0-1
A great game by all players. Great to see our full team on the park. It was disappointing to lose on a penalty, but everyone played with a lot of heart for our last home and away match. Good luck in the finals
Under 14s lost 0-1
Terrific effort by the team on Sunday. Very unfortunate not to score and we were beaten by a late goal. Excellent game by the whole team with Phil, Finny, Jonsey having outstanding games
Under 13s lost 1-2
A very good team effort against a team that is coming third. The Chapman twins were fantastic. Every player contributed which is pleasing and this team has the potential to cause some headaches come finals time. Keep tying kids.
Great game girls and boys. Great play by Amy, Georgia, Damien, Peter, Josh, Nathen, Tom, Pat, Brad, Clemo, Luke, Andrew, Matty and Seato. Good goal Amy. Bad luck at goals Peter Pat
Under 12s lost 0-1
A game that was fitting of a gran final, as two very good teams gave everything. The coach was on time and very impressed with the teams effort and commitment Mark was awesome in goals and he pulled a memorable save that he can be extremely proud of. The team was best served by Kristy, Sam, Luke, Bon, Matty P, Alex and Clemo.
Under 11s won 3-1
After a slow start the hotspurs juggernaut finally cranked up and inflicted two telling blows on the TCW just before half time. This proved telling in the context of the game, as we were able to cruise to a comfortable victory without playing the soccer we are capable of. Goals, Matt T (2) and Daniel. Well done boys!
Under 10s lost 1-6
Great game girl and boys. Great play by Kia, Tim, Daniel, David, Caleb, Zac, Aras, Jessica, Steven, Tom, Brad, Chris and Jarrod.Great Goalkeeping by Jarrod and Kia. Our goal was scored by Tim. Thank you to Kia and Tim for helping out.
Under 9s drew 2-2
For the first time since the season started we were looking down the barrel at our first real defeat. But to the credit of the team they kept fighting to come away sharing a point. Tim Holt scored both goals due to some great lead up work and persistence by Saun Dalitz. Best Players, Oliver Haynes, Jason Dalitz and Jack Gardiner. Good effort by the team as a whole.
